TREND #4 (As seen on the runway for Spring 2018)

This week's post is about a trend I LOVE! Fashion designers are taking inspiration from artists, and actually putting copies of artwork on items of clothing. I have a top inspired by Miro, one of my favorite artists. Raf Simon (Calvin Klein) has entered an agreement with the Warhol Foundation which allows the brand to use Warhol's art in their collection. Coach was inspired by Keith Haring. Akris adapted designs by Alexander Girard to creat a vibrant, fun look. Girard's wooden dolls actually lined the runway of this show! Alice and Olivia designer, Stacey Bendet, collaborated with Lola Schnabel (along with other female artists) for the set and designs in her presentation,  using the flowers of Schnabel in beautiful prints perfect for spring.

The first photo above is Coach, the second is Akris, the third is Alice and Olivia, and the final photo is Calvin Klein. The blending of art and fashion is a natural. Look for artistic prints and patterns as you shop this spring, one just might catch your eye. It's an easy way to add a little joy and creativity to your wardrobe!
